"We still have to prove that the car is competitive at other circuits, so we want to show we can finish and win again if possible," says Rickard Rydell, victor at the A1-Ring in the Prodrive Ferrari. "I think the Lister will be very strong (at the Nurburgring), it’s a circuit that should suit it."

The A1-Ring is more point and squirt than the fast corner stuff at the Nurburgring. If the Ferrari is short on downforce, the Nurburgring surely will suit the Lister more. Mike Jordan is promoted to the FIA GT team, in the absence of Tom Coronel, but the Englishman is fresh from the flat out stuff at Thruxton - where he and David Warnock won - so he should settle straight in to the international series.

Ballast has been taking its toll, perhaps more so in Austria than elsewhere - Larbre will be glad to lose a little, even though they have also lost their 'first or second in every race' record. The Carsport Vipers are the fourth likely winners, with Rafanelli and belmondo as the ousiders. It's all about race wins now.

Which isn't necessarily the case in N-GT. Problems for Luca Riccitelli and a surprise Austrian win for the Terrien / Pescatori 360 mean that it's absolutely wide open in this class (four points between them).

Tim Sugden is the wild card. He drove all but 18 laps in Austria, and but for a jammed wheel at a pit-stop, could easily have hauled the EMKA Posrche onto the podium, maybe even second. Watch him match the fastest times throughout the weekend in the now thoroughly sorted EMKA Porsche 911 GT3R. The Freisinger Porsche is finding some good speed at this stage of the season too.
