Round 9
Preview

Only the most hardened GT fans are likely to get excited about the remaining issues for 2001 - the battles for the N-GT titles, where Luca Riccitelli has 51 points, David Terrien and Christian Pescatori have 46. A good result for the Porsche driver could see the drivers title wrapped up before Estoril, but as the three of them scored only one point between them at the Nurburgring, anything is possible this weekend. At least the weather should be better for the last two races: the early season events were marked by some awful meteorological conditions, but Spain and Portugal should be a huge improvement. It's sunny and warm in Spain as this is written.

In the N-GT teams race, RWS are again five ahead of JMB, 51 to 46.

The GT class is all about who can come second, behind Larbre and their Viper drivers. JC-W has 33, Hezemans and Bleekemolen 32, Vosse 28.

The teams race reads Larbre 82, Carsport 47, Lister Storm Racing 42 and Paul Belmondo Racing 36.

Besides the already announced BV-R partnering JC-W for Listers, there's Kumpen and Clerico ("It's great to drive with Clerico again"), in the #11 Paul Belmondo Viper, the PSI Porsche twin turbo for Mollekens and Cohen (Belcar winners at Spa last weekend), Prodrive chasing win no.2 (Rydell and Menu) - but no Rafanelli Ferraris.
