Qualifying- Super Pole

The Lister Storm team maintained its position at the head of the field during qualifying for the second round of the FIA GT Championship at Silverstone. Jamie Campbell-Walter claimed pole position for tomorrow's three-hour race in his Lister Storm. The Briton lapped the 5.14km Silverstone circuit in a time of 1:46.644 seconds to beat his team-mate Bobby Verdon-Roe in the nr 15 Lister Storm by four tenths of a second.

Mike Hezemans was third fastest in his Team Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper GTS-R. The Dutchman completed his lap in a time of 1:47.750s, despite the drama of the test sessions and this morning's first qualifying. Hezemans team mate Fabrizio Gollin set fourth fastest time in the Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper GTS-R, that he shares with Italian Luca Cappellari with a 1:48.113. Andrea Piccini was fifth fastest in the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello

Christophe Bouchut, winner here last year, crashed his Larbre Competition Chrysler Viper GTS-R during his super pole lap. The Frenchman believed that his car would have been able to snatch pole position from the two Lister Storms, but made a mistake at Luffield corner and spun into the gravel. Bouchut, David Terrien and Vincent Vosse will start from the back of group A, sixth overall on the grid.

Stephane Ortelli recorded the N-GT pole position in his Freisinger Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3RS by more than a second as they try to regain the upper hand after the events at Magny Cours. The Monegasque, driving with Portuguese Ni Amorim, set a time of 1:51.973. Johnny Mowlem, the Briton competing in his first FIA GT Championship race of the year in the Autorlando Sport Porsche 996 GT3RS, was second fastest, ahead of Andrea Bertolini in the JMB Racing Ferrari 360 Modena.

Christian Pescatori had set second fastest time in the class in his JMB Ferrari 360 Modena on old tyres, but had his time disallowed as the rear of his Ferrari was found to be too low. The Italian, with co-driver Andrea Montermini, will start from the back of group B, sixth in the N-GT class and in 20th position on the grid overall. Jurgen von Gartzen was fourth in class in the JVG Racing Porsche 996 GT3RS, ahead of Adam Jones in the Cirtek Porsche 996 GT3RS.
