Michael Mallock, sharing the Eclipse Motorsport Marcos Mantis with Ben McLoughlin (above), finished an excellent seventh in GTO at Castle Combe's Privilege GT race yesterday, first non-GTO Mantis home. "For the next race, I believe we will have the new five litre engine, which will make us almost as quick as the team's other (GTO) Mantis, which was hanging on to the Porsches very well."
This coming weekend, Michael will be in the Czech Republic, sharing the brand new Roy Baker Tampolli, with Simon Wiseman, in the FIA Sportscar Championship. The Swara Tampolli will be powered by the IES Nissan V6, rather than an Alfa Romeo or BMW unit. "I believe we will have an excellent package overall, one that will be hard to beat," explains Roy Baker. "The support we have received from Tampolli has been second to none," reckons 18 year old Michael Mallock. Three of Swara's mechanics have been in Italy completing the build of the Tampolli, ready for its debut on the track on Saturday. |
