The title should have a question mark after it.
All credit to the top three entries in the GT class of the Privilege Championship - Castle Combe saw the first non-finish for the Lister / TVR / Viper trio. Tim Harvey's non-finish wasn't a mechanical retirement either. But having missed the test session at the track because of Chamberlain's commitments at Le Mans, plus top end problems in Qualifying, a satisfactory outcome for the Hayles Racing Viper might have been a third place. Mike Jordan couldn't believe his luck when he saw Tim Harvey spear beween two backmarkers, hit one and spin into the tyres. Not only did their (current) main championship rivals fail to score, this move also brought out the Safety Car and allowed Jordan to close up to the TVR Speed 12. Without the SC, the BV-R / Caine TVR had it in the bag.
Had Jordan passed Harvey for second and the TVR won, the points would be:
1. Warnock / Jordan 91
2. Wilson / Harvey 86
3. BV-R / Caine 76
The actual points position is:
1. Warnock / Jordan 94
2. Wilson / Harvey 76
3. BV-R / Caine 73
So suddenly, the Lister pair have a real advantage for the first time.
