Looking Hard At Brands Hatch |
|
|
Teams that made a commitment to the ISC and then decided that enough was enough are now in a difficult situation - something that was anticipated here several weeks ago.
Brookspeed Racing need to go racing (that's the reason for their existence), and they've got a Viper (ex-Oreca) ready to go at Brands Hatch on July 7 / 8. Budgets were based on their original 2001 plans, so something needs to happen very quickly if that car is to appear on the grid in just over 10 days time.
There has been some stunning racing between the three 'big guns' at the head of the Privilege GT field, and with adjustments to the race timetable (a 14.30 start), plus a morning warm up, the Privilege Championship outlook is very positive. TotalMotorSport is as keen as anyone to see the GT part of the grid expand. If you can see any way to support Brookspeed's efforts, or if you're a driver with a budget and the necessary talent, get in contact with Martin Braybrook at Brookspeed using this email link or this telephone number - 02380 644077.
It's in everyone's interests that the GT class grows to former levels. If we can help (anyone), we will. Brookspeed were double winners with the (Lister-run) Lister last year; it would be great to see them back with an absolutely top line Viper at Brands. |
