Pescarolo Sport's plans for the balance of the year are still in a state of flux, according to information from France.
The team owner was sufficiently encouraged by the surviving car's pace at Le Mans to want to carry on the programme this year, but there is apparently a shortfall in the intended budget, plus other problems.
An ELMS programme would be without Henri's tyre partner at Le Mans (Michelin), while an ALMS programme has no appeal for his European partners. The FIA SCC isn't an attraction because of the lack of media interest, spectators and competitive rivals (only nine SR1s at Brno). The conclusion would seem to be that European racing for sports prototypes isn't where it should be, if the likes of Pescarolo - target a Le Mans win - can't conclude arrangements to carry on racing after Le Mans.
The team owner is keen to carry on with the Courage C60 until the suggested rule changes come in (perhaps for 2004), but that may depend on Yves Courage's plans and any tie up with another engine supplier. Courage himself still has hopes of arranging an engine deal with Nissan.
