The change has been attributed to "recent moves to centralize all Don Panoz' motorsport activities in Georgia," but for whatever reason, Dave Price will no longer be Director of Racing with Panoz Motor Sports, a position he has held since December 1999.
"It has become apparent to me in recent months, with the many different programs we are running within the organization, that we needed to look again at the management structure of some of the companies," explained Don Panoz. "As far as the team is concerned, they will be concentrating on the American Le Mans Series here in the US for the rest of the season. Dave - because of his other business commitments in the UK - was unable to offer us any more of his time and his involvement with Panoz Motor Sports will therefore not continue at the same level.
"I am very appreciative of all the efforts made by Dave, who was one of the first people involved with me when I entered international motor racing in 1997. He will remain a confidant and advisor to me and the team and will be attending races within the American Le Mans Series in this capacity. I have valued Dave's forthright advice and opinions over the years and the help he has given us will be on-going.
"We are not yet ready to announce who will be stepping into the senior management position at Panoz Motor Sports, but I expect there to be a seamless transition which will not detract from the team's enthusiasm and desire to win."
First job for the new Director will be to try to make the Roadster S competitive, while still developing the LMP07.
