With the kerbs a little damp and slippery on Saturday morning at Brands Hatch, the Privilege GT cars weren't flying as high as they usually do. Congratulations then to either Charlie Butler-Henderson or Oli Wilkinson for this effort, with all four off the ground.
The Ohana Mantis GTO was fourth fastest in the race morning warm-up, but Oli Wilkinson managed to go off on lap one of the race, but not in the Paddock accident. He flew off at Hawthorns.
Ben Padfield manages the Ohana operation. "We went down to Pau for the French GT round there, but the gearbox went after 12 laps. We've got Bravo TV as one of our sponsors, and we're looking at entering the bigger meetings for the rest of the season - Donington, Brands again and Silverstone for the night race.
"We've got the handling and gearbox sorted, we just need some more low end power. We'll have a new engine for next year." Well done to this team for developing the Mantis themselves.
Charlie Butler-Henderson may have been at the wheeel in the shot above. "The elctrical cut-out 'pinged' when I landed at Dingle Dell in Qualifying. That's why we came in on the end of a rope."
Hopefully the car wasn't too badly damaged in the lap one shunt. Yesterday was an expensive day for some. |
