This is actually a qualifying photograph, but it is still representative of events on Sunday. Calum Lockie could read the sign on the back of the TVR (see the race report), despite that Safety Car having pulled off.
Lockie took full advantage of the dramas that hit the Lister Storm and Hayles Viper, and was cracking along behind Michael Caine in the TVR. "I thought that third would be the absolute best we could manage, and we did. Dave drove a very good stint, and I was really chuffed with my best lap." That was a 1:27.743, only seven-tenths slower than the TVR's best.
It may have taken a major accident to set up the right circumstances, but it's still a welcome change to see the little guys getting onto the podium. |
