The Ferrari 333SPs still fitted with the Ferrari V12 will lose the 0.5 mm restrictor advantage they were awarded at the start of the 2000 season, with effect from the next race at Magny-Cours. The official explanation reveals that, "after assessment of qualifying results, race lap times and ballast carried by each car at the last event, Brno, it has been decided by the FIA Sportscar technical department that an additional 0.5mm in single restrictor size allocated to the Ferrari 4 litre V12 engine from the beginning of the 2000 season will be brought in line with the other 4 litre engines at the following sizes:
Single restrictor - 46.8mm
Twin Restrictor - 33.4mm"
