The Callaway C12R has dropped out of the entry at Sears Point. Tim Crete posted the news on the PSCR Forum that Aspen Knolls / Bob Mazzuoccola have "withdrawn support for the MCR Callaway C12, effectively shutting down the entire program."
Michael Colucci is seeking funding to carry on with the programme, perhaps with a new car owner. Shane Lewis was due back in the driving seat at Sears, after recovering from serious surgery that caused him to miss Le Mans.
So the GT class becomes Porsche vs. BMW again, with the added interest that the two PTG 4 litre cars are due at Sears Point for the first time. Four BMWs might be more than the Porsches can handle, and we await news of Porsche's GT plans for 2002 with interest.
