Friday Road Accident |

Regular reader Iain Macbeth was a witness to an unfortunate incident on the Friday before the Le Mans 24 Hours.
"As is becoming usual, cars were being stopped on the public road just beyond Indianapolis on the run up to Mulsanne corner, and encouraged to do "burn-outs". Obviously, there is an element of egging people on, and whilst most drivers were being reasonably discerning about what they were doing, inevitably someone got it wrong. In this case, it was the Ferrari (above), who lost the rear end, and clattered into a British registered Seat Ibiza GTI that was stuck in the queue of traffic on the opposite side of the road.
"The Ibiza was quite badly damaged, with the front left wheel being torn off, and all the panels on the left side damaged, and inexcusably, the Ferrari driver just floored it, and did a runner. I very much doubt anyone would have got the registration number of the Ferrari as it drove off at high speed, but the attached photo shows the number very clearly - in its original format, before cropping.
"Although I didn't get the registration of the Seat, given the number of people who log onto the site, it may be that this photo will help one of your readers with what not only wrecked their weekend, but also with a rather difficult insurance claim."
Rick Wilson forwards the news that the miscreant in the Ferrari has already been caught by the French police.
