Getting There |

Terry Pudwell / Mark Pashley and Robin Rex / Nigel Greensall were out in the pair of Stealths at Donington yesterday. They ran without transponders, as befits a team looking for a series to run in, but the signs are good that they'll be racing soon.
"We had a good test yesterday, working through some new car problems as you'd expect, but also getting in some good laps at speed, in between the showers," reports Terry Pudwell.
"Nigel Greensall is helping with car sorting and his experience and superb technical abilities are proving to be invaluable. If we can raise the money I'd dearly like to have Nigel in one of the cars for the rest of the season.
"As for the British GT championship, it seems that all the teams want us in as soon as possible (i.e this weekend at Donington) but the BRDC are insisting on us delivering a road car before they'll let us in. The road car programme has been delayed while we finalise the new rear end of the car and some other details like which gearboxes to use for the road. The next new car (the first 2001 road car) is in build right now but is around 2 to 3 months away, so it's not looking good for us this year.
"It's a shame - last year's road car (which was sold to Austria and we can't get it back!) was tested by all the leading mags including EVO, and was seen on Sky TV. Also, there are now 5 race cars in operation (in Canada, Germany and the UK) and so we're clearly not a one off specialist car builder, but that seems to be the way it is....."
Maybe not, Terry. With support from the GT Association, perhaps the cars can be 'stealthily' slipped into the Privilege Championship before too long. Well done the other teams for supporting the entry of these exciting cars.
There is a Plan B though. "I'm trying to put together a European programme instead, hopefully taking in some Belcar, Spanish GT and French GT rounds. With European sponsors, this might be the way we'll go in future. They seem to be much more interested in letting in new cars."
Let's just wait and see.....
