Lister Cars have completed arrangements with Francois Lafon so that a third Lister will be entered from the Austrian round of the Championship, for Lafon and Jean-Pierre Jarier.
Laurence Pearce has been keen to make a third car (and a fourth and fifth!) available since last winter, so this is a very positive move for his company.
"We hope to carry on with the arrangement into 2002," said Fiona Pearce. "Lister Cars will be running the car, but there is a training programme in place to use some of the French mechanics from Team ART, who are so far unfamiliar with the Storm. It will run on Dunlop tyres."
The existing Storms use Michelins, of course.
"We feel sure that Jarier and Lafon will be highly competitive from now on," concluded Fiona Pearce, who also mentioned that there are more Storms ready to go, if customers want them.
"The Jarier car will be the car Julian and I won the Championship with last year," said Jamie Campbell-Walter.
Lister Cars are planning a four car test at Dijon on August 5 - 8, with the two regular FIA cars joined by the third car for Austria, plus their Spanish GT Championship car. They may not be going to Spa, but their season is far from over yet.
The Jarier / Lafon Viper has been withdrawn from the Spa entry list.
