"Did I tell you that we will be doing Daytona next year?" enquired Fiona Pearce (knowing full well that she hadn't).
The simple story is that "Nicolaus (Springer) wants to do Daytona. It will be with his 2001 car."
FIA GT cars can now enter the Rolex 24 with their sequential gearboxes, so there's no extra effort and expense developing an H pattern shift any more. The last time Listers ran at Daytona with the current model was in '97, when they led the race (finished 19th overall). This time, the team will have Springer and "three other current Lister drivers on the team", but there is the potential to run another car, if the demand is there.
One Storm should increase the appeal of the event for American fans, two would guarantee that Daytona has some real momentum already. Lister against Corvette? That sounds like a great race for GTS honours - and possibly overall, again. Not forgetting Saleen, Marcos and Dodge, of course.
