Disappointing Ferrari news is that Mimmo Schiattarella now looks unlikely to be driving the Rafanelli Ferrari, while the second JMB 360 has probably been withdrawn.
Schiattarella has been replaced by a couple of Belgians, identities as yet unknown (is one Martial Chouvel?), while David Hallyday has burnt his right hand and is unable to drive the JMB car.
Belgian drivers (from all eras) feature strongly throughout the entry, Janos Wimpffen's Preview link referring to a good number of them.
For Anthony Kumpen in one of the Belmondo Vipers, the Proximus 24 is "more important to us than Le Mans. I'm sharing with the boss (Paul Belmondo), so I had better behave myself!"
"I think that the pressure will be off me to a certain extent," explained Kumpen. "Although I am well known in Belgium, we have a great driver line-up in the other 2 cars with the likes of Vosse, Defourny, Clerico, Helary etc who will all be trying to impress, and I can get on with the job quietly and hopefully make a bigger impression."
"With so many Belgian drivers in the race, for sure it will be a strong battle, let alone the other top drivers of the series who will be trying to win. I think our biggest opposition has to be the Larbre team with their two Vipers." Pierre Dieudonné is expected to be part of the Larbre team for this meeting.
