Lienhard's Plans |
End of the line for his 333s |
|
With Fredy Lienhard buying a Crawford SSC2K for 2001, his Ferraris have raced for the last time. The chassis converted to run with the Judd engine will revert back to full Ferrari spec. and sold to a US collector. He's keeping his other 333SP to frighten corporate customers at track days in Europe.
Rain at the Nurburgring prevented a meaningful comparison between the Doran Lista car and the regular SRWC Ferraris, but Didier Theys was apparently fastest in a dry free practice session on Saturday morning.
Wins at Homestead and Road America endorsed the decision to switch to the Judd engine, especially bearing in mind Risi's lack of success with the standard car.
"Unbelievable, the lesser I revved the engine, the quicker were my lap times," said Mauro Baldi after the Road America win. |
