Jack Cunningham and Chamberlain Motorsport have been concentrating on the MG effort this year, which has meant that the sight of Chamberlain Vipers has been missing from the FIA GT Championship and A and E LMS events.
Jack Cunningham offered this view of ELMS prospects for 2002: "The suggestion that ELMS will be four or five races of six hours suits us, either with the Vipers or the MG, right down to the ground. We like the longer events. The cost of doing six hours as opposed to 2 hrs. 45 is not that much greater, but everyone gets so much more value out of their spend, in my view. I think it's better for the public, the sponsors, the drivers and the team owners. I very much hope that Don Panoz and John Mcdonald can put that together. For the rest of this year, as far as ALMS/ELMS is concerned, we are hoping to do Petit Le Mans and Malaysia."
In case it isn't clear, that PLM / Malaysia comment relates to the MGs.
