Plans And Dreams |

David Legangneux has been scanning through the respected Auto-Hebdo, which features Henri Pescarolo's thoughts on this year, and the future.
Regarding his partnership with Peugeot, Pescarolo indicated that he has the manufacturer's support to return to Le Mans, but as their plans are based around rallying, Peugeot wouldn't stop him running a different engine, if another manufacturer offered him some support.
The team's plans for the balance of the year comprise the FIA SCC events at the Nurburgring (possibly Mondello Park two weeks before, because Henri loves Ireland) and Kyalami. It doesn't look as though he's planning a visit to Donington Park, having already raced there once this year.
He admires the FIA Sportscar Championship because it is convivial and the spirit is good, but (it's difficult to get the exact meaning in translation) he indicates that the method of equalising the cars is not very motivating.
He is concerned that the ELMS isn't furthering the image of Le Mans itself, but being a racer, he still wants to take on the Audis.
His dreams for the future include:
a single set of regulations for Prototypes
a single Prototype championship headed by the FIA
plus four or five long distance races (6, 12 or 24hrs) each year, headed by the ACO, with everyone entering (GTs and Prototypes).
Henri doesn't seem convinced that all of the above will happen. |
