It's an oddity of the Grand Am season that it's nearly over already. Michael Johnson (the youngest of team managers) at Archangel Motorsport Services is already celebrating his team's success with their second straight SRP-II Team Championship. "Although it is not yet decided which of the two Archangel cars will win overall, the third place car of Porschehaus Racing cannot catch up with one race reamining (Archangel's #21 has a 37 point lead, with 35 available)."
"Andy Lally has only a two point lead going into the final race at Daytona on September 16, and the team will be working overtime to make sure he has the best car on the track."
Lally's nearest challengers are Bruno St Jacques, Robert Julien and Mike Durand.
Archangel won the team and drivers championships in 2000 with Larry Oberto and Ryan Hampton. |
