Jamie Campbell-Walter: "We’ve decided we’re going to win (this weekend)! The Championship has gone, so we’ve nothing to gain, nothing to lose. We’ll go flat out and try to win as many races as we can for the rest of the season. It will be good for our sponsors and good preparation for next season. I feel we’ve fallen a bit behind the Carsport Viper and the Ferrari in straight line speed, so we’ve got some work to do there; it’ll be productive."
In terms of Championship points, it needs to be. Bouchut and Belloc have scored 68 (and are Champions), while the Lister drivers are now into a battle for runner-up spot:
Marc Duez 27
Vincent Vosse 25
JC-W 23
Coronel 20.
Before the Spa race, Marc Duez was way down the list with 7 points - and now he's second!
As well as the regular sister car of Nicolaus Springer / Julian Bailey, the 2000 Championship winning chassis will be in the hands of Jean-Pierre Jarier / Francois Lafon at the A1-Ring. M. Lafon has yet to drive the Lister - which will run in a similar overall colour scheme to the car in the photograph, but with Lafon's sponsors - but Jarier has, in a test at Dijon earlier this month: "It’s a true racing car, with a very efficient engine at high revs. You need to know its limits to get the most out of it. Although we’ll have to wait for Austria to know more, I think it will give us a significant increase in performance."
