On Provisional Pole At Zolder |
Wednesday evening saw the first Qualifying session for the Belcar Zolder 24 Hours, and Anthony Kumpen took the provisional top slot in the GLPK Viper.
Kumpen: "Even though we're pole by a second there are three more qualifying sessions today and Marc Goosens was building up for some quick laps in his Bi-turbo Porsche last night (Correction: this one is a 996 GT3-R Porsche with 2001 GT3-RS engine), and there's a very fast Audi Quattro GT to think about, so it's not sewn up yet. We probably won't do much today (Thursday) unless someone goes quicker."
Kumpem leaves for the A1 Ring later today, in readiness for tomorrow's Free Practice at the FIA GT event, in the Belmondo Viper. He'll return to Zolder on Saturday after qualifying the Belmondo car, in time for the start of the 24 hours. His 'mission' will continue back and forth between the two countries by private plane as he attempts to win 2 races on the same weekend.
