Stanton Hits Bar Door |
With A Bang |
|
Reports from Japan tell of more door banging action at the Pokka 1000kms at Suzuka. This time though it happened after the race, when the intrepid Rollcentre TVR crew adjourned to the famous Log Cabin bar.
There is a tradition of drivers signing the ceiling, the complication being that it is too high to reach from the floor.
Never fear, a piggyback will do the trick and sure enough Messrs Short and Barff successfully completed the tricky manoeuvre. New boy Richard Stanton wasn’t quite so lucky however. Whether he completed his signature is not recorded but he was certainly lucky to escape unhurt from his substantial impact with a glass door.
The bar owners tell us that the invoice for the broken door is in the post Richard.
