Prodrive will enter their second 550 Maranello chassis in the series-closing Audi Petit Le Mans early in October.
Rickard Rydell and Peter Kox will drive, along with a third, yet to be named, driver. Kox and Rydell won (second time out) at the A1-Ring last weekend, proving beyond doubt that this is a superb development of the 550.
Prodrive havce indicated that they are aiming to sell up to six of them for 2002. Expect to see the car at least on the pace of the Corvettes, and the order book start to fill up soon afterwards. It's thought to be very pricey though.
Speaking of which / whom, 'Pricey' is working with Prodrive in the build-up for this event. The third driver, Dave Price has said, will most likely be an American, and he has several candidates.
"We believe that America will be a big market for us," he said, adding that several potential customers will visit the car and team at Road Atlanta.
