Jason Watt is due to have a test (on September 13) in a Panoz Roadster adapted to his needs, and if he can exit the car within 5 seconds, there seems a very good chance that he'll be able to resume his racing career at the Nurburgring.
The test went well, and with some revisions to the hand clutch, Jason Watt can be expected to make his SRWC debut at the Nurburgring.
John Mangoletsi has pointed out that there is a connection between handicapped drivers and his father. Apparently Mangoletsi Snr. was the Scrutineer at Oulton Park who was involved when Archie Scott-Brown was racing a Lister in the fifties. Scott-Brown didn't fully declare his handicap, but it was all resolved so that the driver could compete - very successfully as it turned out.
Kremer Racing are looking at the very strong Kelleners / Simon partnership at the Nurburgring. The Lola B98/K2000 will have a new livery for the race. A change of fortune imminent for the German team? |
