The photograph is of Arena Motorsport's Dane Leekham, somewhere in the USA. He and Andy de la Touche pulled in to the Laguna Seca Raceway on Tuesday after a 3,000-mile drive from New York - hauling the Gulf Audi R8 and all the team's equipment.
Meanwhile the rest of the team left London - and spent 20 hours getting to San Francisco after technical troubles grounded their 747 at Glasgow Airport.
"It's been an interesting drive," explained Dane Leekham. "There's been so much to take in in just five days. The countryside changes every 100 miles - it's something we'll be able to digest in about six months I reckon."
De la Touche added: "At least we felt a bit closer to home when we came down by San Francisco as Rustington is apparently twinned with Los Gatos in California."
A more unlikely twinning is difficult to imagine. Rustington is a sleepy little town near Littlehampton, on England's south coast. The Editor used to have a mother-in-law who lived there......
