An announcement regarding the involvement - or not - of Chrysler's LMPs in 2002 has been expected for nearly two weeks (but is still unforthcoming).
Autosport are quoting engine builder John Caldwell as saying that "as far as I know, the decision is made." That would be a reference to the cancellation of the project as regards Chrysler's involvement, and confirmation that the single car due at the Audi Petit Le Mans will be a private effort from ORECA - which could be the last time the car runs with Mopar power.
Yannick Dalmas and Olivier Beretta completed a 450 mile test at Dijon last week. Pedro Lamy will join them at Road Atlanta.
Meanwhile, Ascari are reported to have withdrawn their Petit Le Mans entry. |
