Perhaps 20 Cars |

It's still too early to have a clear idea of numbers for 2002, or to understand how the two classes will be organised, but suggestions of up to 20 Touring Class entries seem to have some foundation.
MG are certainly exploring the option of running three or four cars; the MG ZS made a highly promising debut at Silverstone, and seems to lack for nothing in the handling stakes.
Nothing concrete from Peugeot yet, but there seems to be an option to replace the 406 Coupe with the 307, which hadn't been launched (for the road) at the start of this season.
Tim Blake at TotalMotorSport Racing has had considerable interest from potential Lexus runners, in addition to the two cars that he will run in 2002.
Having conquered their reliability problems, JSM are unlikely to run less than two cars next year, while four Astras could appear in Egg:Sport colours, although not necessarily driven by the same four Triple Eight drivers as seen this year. Privateer Astras have been rumoured for some weeks too.
Then there's the prospect of a fifth manufacturer entering the series. Much will become clearer when TV coverage for the 2002 series is announced.
