The Night Race at Silverstone this Saturday will be Rob Barff’s last in a Rollcentre TVR.
“He has decided to leave the Rollcentre Racing GTO Team to move on to the GT category,” explains Martin Short. “He let us know at the last race at Brands Hatch that he is hoping to join a major GT team for next season. He let us know early so that we can make our own plans, which is typical of Rob’s fair minded character.”
Martin Short heaps further praise on the man who has shared good and bad fortune with him over the last two years.
“I am sad to see Rob go, as he has been an intrinsic part of our team, always there to help, putting up awnings, sticker the car, talk to guests, and he even brought his parents along, Andy and Kath, who likewise have done everything they possibly could to help us. We will miss them as much as we will miss Rob. Rob is as good out of the car as he is in it, and a lot of people freely admit that they have had to re-evaluate Rob, having really got to know him over the last two years.”
”I like to think that we have helped him along the way, just as he helped us, and if he does get his big chance, we will all be the first to congratulate him.”
From Barff’s first race in the Cerbera Speed 6, at Croft last year, he’s created a very favourable impression. A bright future seems to await him.
