Jack Cunningham (right) at Chamberlain Motorsport explains that, "we have entered the night race (this Saturday) with a view to looking at the series for ourselves and a full season entry next year, subject to our sponsors' requirements."
His company have run the Hayles Vipers very successfully throughout 2001, so it will be interesting to see how Stephen Watson (middle, above) and Xavier Pompidou fare against Tim Harvey and Rob Wilson. Jack Cunningham hopes that Hayles Racing "win the Team Championship" on Saturday, the points status of which will be explained in the race preview.
He describes Watson and Pompidou as "drivers whom we know well and who have driven a number of times with us since I first became involved with the company in 1999." Both are very quick, and are likely to have a point to prove this weekend.
It's going to be the best entry of the year, emphasising that BMP were right to reinstate the Night Race. It will also be a rousing conclusion for the PowerTour theme, emphasising that BMP were quite wrong to drop this idea after just two years.
