Two Cars In 2002 |
|
Vauxhall Motors today confirmed that it will compete in the 2002 British Touring Car Championship. They will enter two Astra Coupes, which will be built and run by its existing race partner, Triple Eight Race Engineering.
Confirmation of the 2002 campaign takes the number of consecutive years that Vauxhall has supported the British series to fourteen, having first entered in 1989.
Mike Nicholson, Manager Vauxhall Motorsport said: "This season has been an excellent one for us and naturally we are keen to build on this success, to come back next year and defend our crown. Next year's championship looks like it will be a strong one and we are happy to be a part of it."
It remains to be seen which member(s) of the current driver line-up will stay on next year.
