David Legangneux has been scanning the news outlets in France and has come up with the following details.
He confirms the expected, that is that DAMS will not be associated with the running of the new Cadillacs next year; DAMS were at one point this year expected to be involved with running a Corvette project, but that came to nothing.
"Ouest-France" confirms that Oreca will race Chrysler / Dallara prototypes at Le Mans next June. "It's sure" said Hughes de Chaunac, "but we don't know with which engine." The power plants could still be Mopar units, if made available, or new Mugen engines, or Judds - if it is the latter, it is certain to be the new, 5 litre version.
The new French magazine "Le Mans Racing" link, in its third issue, reports that a new Japanese company called YGK will try to enter four cars at next year's Le Mans - in two classes. The company sells imported cars in Japan and has already competed under the name of the team "Yellow Magic" - at recent Rolex 24s, for example.
Two engines will apparently be used: both (up to?) 4 litre V8s, but with and without turbochargers, conceived by Yoshimasa Hayashi, formerly responsible for the competition engines at Nissan for the Group C program during 80s & 90s.
Two chassis will be used: an LMP 675 and an LM GTS.
