Eric Burch at AVR sums up their season thus: "The podium at the Petit made all the difficult times we went through this season worth it all.
"In total, we ended up going through two pit crew groups before settling on our third, which we had together as a group for the final three races and they progressed every race and looked good at the Petit with fast pit stops, and did a great job of preparing the cars before each outing."
Regarding next year, "we will expand to Daytona and Le Mans for 2002, and are trying now to sure up our driver lineup for the entire 2002 season."
Aside from that Petit outing last year, 2001 was effectively the team's first, and we have been pleased to document the good times (less so the bad times) for the team, here at TMS. It has been a joy to describe the progress towards the end of the season. It looks as though it won't end at that level: "We will be making further developements to our Vipers, with significant testing, to be in contention for the 2002 Team, Driver, and Manufacturer Championships!" explains Burch.
He acknowledges that "although critical of our program at times throughout the year, (TMS staff have) maintained their integrity in continually posting their unbiased, honest opinions, and we therefore were proud to display their logo on our #44 Dodge Viper GTS-R at the Petit."
Thank you, Eric Burch. Good luck with next year's plan....to have those Vipers right up at the front of GTS. |
