Honda & Mercedes to enter BTCC... |
Honda to return... |

Recent reports have hinted that Honda may return to British Touring Cars next year with the all new Civic Type R ran by JAS Motorsport. The Civic could prove to be a very competitive package in the right hands, boasting tremendous power from its 2 litre, 4 cylinder engines and adept agility from the standard double wishbone suspension. Honda may feel that they have some unfinished business in the BTCC having not won the title in six previous attempts.
The return of Honda would take the total number of different manufacturers entered in the championship to seven, paving the way for a grid of over 20 cars. Also it is believed that Mercedes may be entering the series in the form of two privately entered C Class cars, that would bring another rear wheel drive entry to the field.
