With the start of the 2002 American LeMans Series season only 125 days away, Dick Barbour Racing has entered into an agreement with Multimatic, Inc. that includes the Canadian engineering group as a technical partner.
“As we continue to compete head-on with the factory teams, it is essential that we increase our technical capabilities and avail ourselves of the expertise that Multimatic possesses. They are an industry leader in suspension systems design and we are confident that this arrangement will serve to significantly strengthen our team”, said team principal, Dick Barbour.
Multimatic Vice President, Larry Holt, stated, “We have enjoyed our success with Dick Barbour Racing at the end of the 2001 ALMS season and we look forward to our expanded role and being part of Dick’s third consecutive championship”.
Dick Barbour Racing is currently in the process of reviewing chassis’ and engine options for the upcoming season, with an announcement expected shortly.
The ALMS season will open at Sebring on March 16th, and the Dick Barbour Racing team will be looking to gain victory number 5 in the “50th Anniversary of the 12 Hours of Sebring”.
