DBM Racing announce management |
Vic Elford links up with Dick Barbour |

Vic Elford has teamed up with Dick Barbour to help organise and run the new DBM Racing, Panoz-Mugen LMP900 in this years ALMS and also at Le Mans. Vic’s official title will be sporting manager along with Dick Barber, and the Vice President of Multimatic, Larry Holt, will take over as technical director. DBM are hoping to be competitive from their first outing in the Mugen powered car at the 50th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring, next March.
The North-American base team have just returned from Japan after finalising details with Mugen concerning the fit of the V8 engine, and are confident of making that they will make testing at Sebring or Road Atlanta on the 18th & 21st of February. They are believed to still be undecided on the choice of tyre supplier.
“The DBM Racing Team is in the unique position of being able to draw on the experience of Panoz, Mugen, Dick Barbour and myself” said Vic Elford. “The Japanese factory has the reputation of ‘taking on the world’ and beating them! Add to that Multimatic and you have a world beating team!”
