Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich seems to have no intention of abandoning Le Mans and initiating a full works DTM project. He is quoted in Autosport as saying that, "If you look back at Le Mans history, the winners that stick in the mind are not the manufacturers who only won it once. It would be nice to create a little sportscar heritage for Audi."
He also described a couple of this year's DTM races as "boring", so a return to Le Mans is likely to be confirmed in the autumn. A new car doesn't seem to be on the agenda. The R8R looks good enough to return for a second win. |
