Brembo, a global supplier of rotors and other brake system components,
has been named the "Official Brake of the American Le Mans Series," officials
of Brembo and the series have announced.
Brembo brake systems are used by many of the teams that compete in the
American Le Mans Series, a series of sports car endurance races in North
America that is patterned after the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans. The
Audi Sport North America team, which captured driver, team and manufacturer
championships in both 2000 and 2001 on the series, is a Brembo user.
As part of the new relationship, Brembo will feature its affiliation with
the American Le Mans Series in its advertising and promotions.
"This new marketing partnership between Brembo and the American Le Mans
Series is a natural fit," said Mike Clark, Vice-President of Marketing for
the Panoz Motor Sports Group. "Brembo products help our racing teams perform
at the highest level on the track, and Brembo will now bring its marketing
clout to enhance the growth of the series off the track."
"We are now directly involved in the American Le Mans Series," said Mark
Cornwell, Manager of of Brembo's Racing Business Unit for North America.
"We've had many customers in the past from the series and have appreciated
their support. This new relationship allows us to be involved with the teams
and the series."
Established in 1961 in Bergamo, Italy, Brembo S.p.A., is a world leader and
design innovator of automotive brake technology and is a QS-9000 and ISO
9001 certified supplier of Original Equipment braking systems to the global
market of passenger cars, light trucks, motorcycles and commercial vehicles.
