Jim Matthews Racing and Riley & Scott announced the completion of their driver lineup for the 12 hours of Sebring with the signing of sports car veteran Marc Goossens. The Belgian ace will partner with team owner Jim Matthews and Brit Guy Smith at the 50th running of the endurance classic on March 16. Also, the team announced the successful test of their Mk IIIC fitted out for the first time with all of its changes for the first ALMS event of the season.
“I’m very pleased to join Guy and Jim,” said the 32 year old veteran of six starts at the 24 hours of Lemans. “The car was fast and reliable at Daytona, and since then there has been a lot of work done to make it even better”. Team director Bill Riley was glad to come to terms with the double winner of the 24 hours of Zolder. “Marc is a great fit for the squad. He’s fast, reliable, and very easy to work with”.
In other developments, the team released a photo of the 2nd place Daytona finisher done up in ALMS kit – single roll hoop, cockpit surround, diffuser, carbon brakes, and MegaLine paddle shift engine/gearbox management system. “We have a technical partnership with the Langley Full Scale Tunnel that allowed us to do extensive testing after Daytona, both on track and in the tunnel”, Bill noted. “We also want to thank the people at MegaLine and Xtrac for their technical assistance in optimizing the paddle shift system. We had a great test at Putnam Park (Indiana) before the truck went to Sebring and we’re looking forward to great event at Sebring”.
Riley & Scott Racing and its products have been endurance racing mainstays since 1995. The company’s cars have overall or class wins at Daytona in four of those six years. R&S currently manufactures chassis for SR1, LMP 900, Trans-Am and TRAC competition.
