EUROPEAN TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP |
25/04/2002 |
Top manufacturers run a careful eye over ETCC |
Opel, Nissan, Renault, Seat...the list goes on |
|
Following the recent success of the first European Touring Car race at the weekend, it is believed that several new manufacturers are looking at the possibility of entering the championship in time for the start of the new season in 2003.
Three of Europe’s major automotive manufactures, along with representatives from KIA & Janspeed were at the first round in Magny Cours last weekend, which can only been seen as positive news for the series organisers. Next year, a phrase frequently linked to motorsport, should prove fruitful for the future of the ETCC if the likes of Renault, Seat, KIA, Honda and Opel should join in the fun with Volvo, Alfa Romeo and BMW. The only real problem would be finding a circuit large enough to take the grid.
