David Leslie and Phil Bennett, driving for Norfolk-based Team Petronas Syntium Proton in the works Proton Impians, go to Thruxton this weekend looking to capitalize on Leslie's podium and the team's continuing development programme. Rounds Five and Six of the Green Flag BTCC will be held around the super fast, sweeping bends of the 2.3 mile Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire - a circuit that always provides spectacular race action and the opportunity for fans to get 'up close and personal' with their BTCC heroes.
David Leslie said: "I'm looking forward to racing at Thruxton. It's where I got my first Touring Car victory. We had a good test here recently although the weather could be a factor this weekend. Although we've done very little wet running with the Team PSP Proton Impians, the chassis is very benign so we could be in good shape if it does pour with rain!"
Phil Bennett said: "The team's made some technical advances since Oulton Park that should help the engine performance. I'm looking forward to getting out there and wringing the max out of my race car."
David Wong, Team Principal, Team Petronas Syntium Proton said: "While we were all thrilled to secure our first podium with David's careful and determined drive at Oulton Park, it is very early days for Team PSP. Thruxton is a super-fast circuit and we'll learn a whole lot more this weekend!" |
