Team JCI completed a successful test at Snetterton on Friday, in preparation for their FIA Sports Car Championship debut at Magny Cours next month. The Opel powered Tampolli SR2 circulated all day with no problems, with Michael Mallock once again at the wheel.
"The car felt great," commented the BRDC Rising Star, " considering it was the cars first full test I was expecting a few small problems but it just rolled out of the box and did exactly what I wanted it to do. The all new Swindon built engine felt very strong and along with the Magneti Marelli Electronics package, helped to give me great confidence in the car."
The car completed around 100 laps of the Norfolk circuit, evaluating the all new package, leaving the team happy with the results. "Despite this only being an evaluation run, I was easily able to lap at a competitive pace without having to push the car anywhere near its limits." Michael said, "The Dunlop rubber we were running on still felt strong despite being well used even before the test, overall I think Team JCI have a very strong package here."
The team, headed up by John Christie, will continue their test programme over the next six weeks before the French round of the FIA Sportscar Championship, with yet to be decided drivers.
