In the series’ inaugural year of 1999, they drove separate cars for the team but also scored wins. Sascha Maassen, who has at least one GT class win every year, is the only other driver to win have won in each of the four seasons.<BR> <BR> The winning Panoz LMP-1 at Sears Point also made Panoz the first car make to win in the Prototype class in all four years of the American Le Mans Series. Porsche, which has taken GT class wins in all four years, is the only other marque with at least one win every year.<BR> <BR> The win at Sears Point made Panoz Motor Sports only the second entrant to have won at least one race every year. The first to do so was Alex Job Racing, which won the GT class in the 2002 season opener in March at Sebring.<BR> <BR> The Grand Prix of Sonoma presented by Fosters also produced several firsts for drivers in the series. LMP 675 class winners Ben Devlin and Dave McEntee, driving for Archangel Motorsports, became first-time race winners. LMP 675 class pole winner Jon Field, driving for Intersport, won his first pole in American Le Mans Series competition. During the race, Field set the fast lap, also a first for him.<BR> <BR> Kevin Buckler drove The Racers Group Porsche 911 GT3 RS to the pole position for the GT class, his first pole in ALMS competition. Timo Bernhard, driving for the Job team, set the fastest GT lap of the race for the first time in his career.<BR> <BR> ALMS veteran Johnny O’Connell, who co-drove to victory in the GTS class with Ron Fellows for Corvette Racing, set the first fastest race lap of his career in the ALMS.<BR> <BR> Magnussen’s Sears Point finish allowed him to tie JJ Lehto for the most top 10 finishes in series history with 26 each.
