ACO set to give the hardtops an extra 2 inches!! |
Enclosed cars to play on a level playing field |

The ACO has suggested that it is looking at the possibility giving the roofed prototype cars an increase in rear rubber that should allow the likes of Bentley (the only car currently running in the class) to be more competitive for the 24 hour classic.
The move could be seen as good thing to the major manufactures, which have let it be known that an enclosed car suits their marketing profiles better than an open top. The extra two inches, a must for most, would bring the rear tyres up to sixteen inches in width and would allow the field to be evenly matched.
Could this be the return of the historical big guns of Le Mans? Only time and ACO can tell.
