Rollcentre To Head Tuscan R Campaign |
No More Cerbera Speed 6 |
|
Martin Short and Rob Barff have said good-bye to the Rollcentre Cerbera and will spearhead the TVR assault on the GTO category with one of the all-new Tuscan R models. The Rollcentre team could also field a second car, with up to six Tuscan Rs expected altogether. They’ll probably face up to as many as eight or nine Porsches.
"TVR has taken a lot of the experience we gained with the Cerbera into the Tuscan R," said Short. "We knew that the Cerbera was quick, and seeing the effort and commitment that TVR is putting into the Tuscan R we are confident we will be taking the fight to the Porsches again next year."
Rollcentre Racing will work closely with the TVR factory in the development of the Tuscan R over the coming months. "Experience gained this year has been incorporated into the engine, with a full development programme including newly designed racing rods and pistons as well as head and block modifications," says Short.
"When we started the GT project a year ago, I could never have dreamed it would take us this far in a year. I'm thrilled at the opportunity of working closely with TVR to make the Tuscan R a winner," continued Short. He and Rob Barff made the greatest possible impact on the series in 2000. It looks as though TVR are set to benefit from the groundwork that Short set in motion a year ago. |
