“It finally came home to me when I went up onto the stage and collected that fantastic Tourist Trophy,” remarked a delighted Calum Lockie. He and many other famous names were present in London for the BRDC Dinner, but Lockie didn’t just receive the Tourist Trophy. “I’d already received the Championship Trophy earlier in the evening.” He doesn’t get to look after the Tourist Trophy, alas. With a value in seven figures, he’ll have to make do with a replica – but at least he can keep it.
The Scot confirmed that he’ll be in a Marcos Mantara at Daytona, sharing with Cor Euser. The Dutchman is planning to take two Mantaras to the Florida classic, having missed the race in 2000. Lockie is having to “wait and see” regarding his FIA and Le Mans plans. It all depends on getting the right budget together. |
