In eighth place after timed practice, the 25 year old Swede set a time in the subsequent Super-Pole which all other drivers failed to beat. Martin Tomczyk is starting as second-fastest Abt driver from the second row on the grid. Surprise: junior Peter Terting, the youngest DTM-driver ever with only 19 years, only just missed out on Super-Pole with eleventh place. The race will be starting on Sunday at 14.00 h, ARD is broadcasting live.<BR> <BR> <B>Quotes After Qualifying</B><BR> <BR> <B>Mattias Ekström</B> (Super Pole, 1.48.389 min., 1st place): "My lap was just perfect, I especially have won a lot of time in the Motodrom. Now, I definitely want to win the race tomorrow. The chances are good - after all, the way to the finish is shortest when you are starting from first place.”<BR> <BR> <B>Martin Tomczyk</B> (Super Pole, 1.48.613 min., 4th place): "I am very satisfied with my position on the second row. My lap in Super-Pole was all right, exactly the right combination of safety and risk. When I have a good start, anything is possible tomorrow.”<BR> <BR> <B>Peter Terting</B> (1.50.601 min., 11th place): "I am totally happy. Eleventh place is my best result this year. Of course, taking part in Super-Pole would have been the greatest thing, but I would like a top ten position in the race even more.”<BR> <BR> <B>Christian Abt</B> (1.50.648 min., 12th place): "That’s what it is like in the DTM: you are missing a few tenths and so much for Super-Pole. Nevertheless, twelfth place is not a bad position to start from. I am happy for Peter that he is alongside me.”<BR> <BR> <B>Laurent Aiello</B> (1.51.618 min., 15th place): "I can’t say exactly what was wrong today. Of course, 15th place isn’t what I had expected before the final. Now, I have to try and make the best out of it during the race.”<BR> <BR> <B>Karl Wendlinger</B> (1.51.742 min., 16th place): "My car was consistent, but yesterday and today, I just had no grip. He has shown today that he isn’t only the best racing driver, but he is also the best rally driver on the sandy parts on the track. And I am happy for Peter.
