North America’s premier production car road racing series returns to eight 2003 circuits, with the addition of one new venue and one race to be announced at a later date.<BR> <BR> “We are pleased to announce a great 2004 schedule that hits many markets where the SPEED World Challenge has built a loyal fan base,” said Mitch Wright, Vice President and General Manager of SCCA Pro Racing. “World Challenge will once again have the opportunity to return to some of the best road courses in North America and to showcase why our series is simply the best in sprint production car racing.”<BR> <BR> The series kicks off the 2004 season at Sebring International Raceway for the fourth- consecutive year as part of the 52nd Mobil1 Twelve Hours of Sebring week March 17-20. <BR> <BR> The historic and scenic hills of Lime Rock Park is the site of the SPEED World Challenge’s traditional run on Memorial Day Weekend May 28-31. This will be 10th consecutive year the series has raced on the 1.53-mile circuit and its 12th appearance in 13 years.<BR> <BR> For the third straight year, the series returns to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 25-27. This will be the seventh time World Challenge has raced in the serene hills of middle Ohio dating back to 1994. <BR> <BR> Nearly one month later, the series travels to the beautiful wine country of Northern California and Infineon Raceway July 16-18. It will be the 10th time the series has run at the multi-terraced track.<BR> <BR> Staying on the west coast with the ALMS, the series treks north to Portland International Raceway July 23-25. Making only its second appearance to the track, the series will have the opportunity to show fans in the Pacific Northwest what SPEED World Challenge is all about.<BR> <BR> Two weeks later, the Championships head north of the border for a weekend race at Mosport International Raceway Aug. 6-8, moving from its traditional Victoria Day Weekend to join the ALMS. It will be the 13th time World Challenge has competed on the Canadian circuit.<BR> <BR> The series then returns to the states to tackle the high horsepower track at Road America Aug. 20-22. North America’s longest road course will allow fans to witness the shear speed that World Challenge cars can demonstrate. It will be the 10th year that World Challenge has run at the 4.048-mile track.<BR> <BR> Northern Georgia is the site of the series eighth race of the 2004 season as its heads to Road Atlanta Sept. 22-25 for the 11th time since 1990. <BR> <BR> “California here we come” will be the mantra for the series as it heads for the beautiful Monterey peninsula and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Oct. 15-17.
