Huff Reunited With Championship Winning SEAT
Robert Huff will be reunited with his championship winning SEAT Leon Cupra R when he takes on the cream of Spain’s tin-top specialists at the final round of the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa Championship in Barcelona this weekend.
The 23 year-old from Cambridge, whose Marshall of Cambridge-backed car powered him to three wins and three second places is relishing the prospect of driving the car again following the successes which secured him the Holiday Inn SEAT Cupra Championship title.
“When I won the title, I realised a 15-year old dream,” said Robert. “Now another is about to come true. I hadn’t expected to be racing again until next year so to get a call inviting me to race at the Circuit de Catalunya is fantastic! I’d hoped to have been racing at Brands but that wasn’t to be, so I thought that was it, my last time in the car was going to have been at Thruxton and having had so much success and such a lot of fun in it I’m really pleased to be getting behind the wheel again.”
“It’s going to be tough in Spain, I know that, but it will be a good opportunity to work with Jason (Plato) prior to our efforts together next season. I’ve spent the last few days learning the circuit on the X-Box and Jason knows the track too so hopefully come Friday’s test sessions we can get it all together. The car will run to slightly different specifications out there and that will be the main thing to get to grips with but I can’t wait to get there and give it
everything I’ve got.”
Testing for the event takes place on Friday 7 November, with qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday 9 November.
